Bloomers (clothing) - Bloomers are an article of clothing invented by Amelia Bloomer to change the way women dressed. The earliest known bloomers were like baggy pants (worn below a skirt), to preserve Victorian decency while being less of a hindrance to women's activities than the long full skirts of the period (see Victorian dress reform). Neo-Victorian - Neo-Victorian is an aesthetic movement which amalgamates Victorian and Edwardian aesthetic sensibilities with modern principles and technologies, originating in and still centered in Japan. Examples of this would include push-button cordless telephones made to look like antique wall-mounted phones, CD players resembling old time radios, Victorianesque furniture, and Victorian-style clothing with Goth, Punk and Rivet accents. Victorian fashion - The term "Victorian fashion" refers to fashion in clothing in the Victorian era, or the reign of Queen Victoria (1837–1901). It is strictly used only with regard to the United Kingdom and its colonies, but is often used loosely to refer to Western fashions of the period. Victorian dress reform - During the middle and late Victorian period, various reformers proposed, designed, and wore clothing supposedly more rational and comfortable than the fashions of the time.
